Two outfits and finds

Outfit for visting friend's apartment last weekend:
Photobucket
Hat: Claires
Necklace: me
Tee: http://www.heychickadee.com/
Skirt: thrifted (tags reads The Limited. btw, the tag on it says 2 and it fits great even though I take a 6 lol @ expensive store sizing)
And I had black tights on under.
This outfit was not meant to be a particular style, so I was surprised how good it looked.
Speaking of Claire's, have you noticed they have lots of really mori style stuff lately? It's great! I want so many things. They even have steampunk jewelry!

Outfit for the mall a few weekends ago:

Star and glasses mokos: Pretty Pop on Etsy
Lolipop moko: Hazusa on Etsy
Tee: Putumayo
Hoodie: Kid's Yoyo
Skirt: Dream of lolita
Socks: Secret Shop
Comments:
I only own two brand loli pieces: two Putumayo tops. That's it. I don't have money for brand because I have other hobbies that mean more to me than my clothing (BJD, anime, and My Little Ponies). Yes, if I saved up, I could buy brand, but it just isnt my priority. Especially since I live in area without meet ups, I don't feel peer presure from other lolitas and I feel free to do my own thing since no one in the area understands what I'm doing any way lol. Don't get me wrong, I adore dressing lolita (and other styles), I just don't see spending more money than I need to in my situation.
About the Putu top, it's actually one of their 'Big Tees'! I thought that meant it would just be big for tiny Japanese girls, but it is huuuuuge!! I typically like more form fitting clothes, so I tucked it into my skirt and wore a hoodie to make the fit look better :)

I also want to share my fave fairy kei piece that I own with you:

I got this about a year ago from the Salvation Army, even before I started dressing fairy. It is just amazing as you can see. It's too big for me, but I think the baggy look adds to the 80s charm :)

I got this from a vintage shop a few days ago:

It's a vintage Gunne Sax! It was $35, but my mom got it down to $30 :) Gunne Sax is famous in dolly kei circles, so that what I had in mind when I bought it, but it's so cute that it's really great for casual any time wear.

  1. That Gunne Sax dress is gorgeous!! What an excellent find!

And I'm totally with ya on just not being able to prioritize brand. n_n Don't worry, you are not alone!

  2. Thank you!
I'm glad. Sometimes I worry people will think of me as an ita or something because I don't buy brand, but it's all about how you wear it, right?
